The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), an International coalition dedicated to ending global chicken abuse, has announced a partnership with Restaurant Brands International (RBI), one of the top 10 restaurant groups in the world. It is the parent company of Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes, among others.
In an update to the RBI's animal welfare policy, the RBI began publicly reporting on its progress in transitioning to cage-free egg supply and aiming to achieve 100% cage-free egg supply globally by 2030.
RBI is now the restaurant group that publicly reports on the progress of its global cage-free egg supply transition.
The plan is to achieve 100 per cent cage-free egg supply in 92 per cent of global markets by 2025, while in the remaining 8 per cent they plan to transition to cage-free egg supply by 2030.
