For egg production enterprises, having too many eggs on the ground or outside the nest is a very tricky issue. Hens laying eggs in their nests is an ideal way for hatcheries to ensure that the eggs are clean and not excessively contaminated, thereby increasing hatching rates, making chicks healthier, and increasing meat production rates for broiler chickens.

However, it is difficult to explain why hens lay their eggs on the ground. Egg production companies have tried their best and exhausted all methods, but still cannot guarantee that the hens will lay their eggs in the nest. Therefore, based on past experience, we have compiled ten management tips that can reduce ground eggs.

1. Train the little hen to jump to the height of the trellis.Little hen3-10At the age of weeks, place unused sheds or roosters in the chicken coop and train them to jump upwards as early as possible;

  eightLet the hen gradually adapt to the conveyor belt.In the early stages, the vibration of the conveyor belt may make the hens afraid to leave the egg box. Enterprises should gradually increase the frequency and speed of collecting breeding eggs to help hens adapt;

  nineMaintain the curtains in the egg box, which separate the egg nest from the conveyor belt. After using for a period of time, the curtain that separates the egg box area from the conveyor belt will slowly roll up, exposing the conveyor belt and scaring the hens. If necessary, the curtain should be replaced to calm the hen down;

  tenRegularly clean the conveyor belt to eliminate odors.After the aging of the egg laying box system, dirt, dust, and broken egg residue will accumulate on the conveyor belt, producing an unpleasant odor. We should take measures as early as possible to reduce ground eggs, but implementing the correct management methods throughout the entire lifecycle of the chicken flock is equally important.
